New site

Hello world!

Hi this is my new site, It completely rewritten, redesigned and reorganized.

Well why did this happend?

Mostly because I was tired of constantly watching security advisories about wordpress, and updating my blog every once in a while, I was tired of bloatware from massive plugins installed in wp and I wanted something fresh.

Few years back I started to learn python, and as part of it i stumbled across Django, very nicely documented and easy python web framework. As I was leraning Django and it's functionality I stared (what now seams to be a failed) project with my friend. While programming that site I learned much about python and Django, and was very impressed by its speed, ease of building new stuff and overall system scalability.

I decided a while ago that I should rewrite my site in Django, and here it is... While still pretty much rudimentary, I plan to upgrade some features, and reprogram all functionality my old blog had.

Current state

Well for now site has basic functionality, for entering blog posts, tagging and inserting some static content. All old links and references from old site should still work, you may encounter a 404 here and there, but it's mainly because I was cleaning and reorganizing some old stuff. Namely some tags are no more...

Also old project links (mscp, and bulk ttl editor) are currently not working since I'm still programing those "modules"

Comments are still not imported... but will be soon(tm), and commenting ability with it.

What's planned?

Well, if my time allows me, this sites blog will not be used for technical mumbo-jumbo. All those howtos and tips&tricks will be organized within HowTo section.

All of the past projects, future ones and some that I should have published will be organized inside Projects section. I also plan to implement some versioning for projects so that any new and old releases will be available.

After all of this is done, I'm planning perhaps on some services/tools section where I plan to port all those nifty and handy scripts and tools as online Django apps. But more on this subject when the time comes :)

Somewhere in this path there is a new redesign planned. Although I for the most part like this design it's not by the most modern standards nearly as user friendly or usable.

So for now I must say enjoy... and stay tuned for some changes...
